Garage Cleanouts in Union City

We clear out garages full of boxes, old tools, broken bikes and half-used paint cans. Our crew sorts what goes to donation, recycling and the landfill, keeps restricted items out of the trash, and sweeps the floor before we leave. You get your parking space back.

When a garage cleanout makes sense

Most garages fill up slowly. A couch goes out there for now, then a few boxes from a move, then the old mower. One day the car lives in the driveway and you can't get to the water heater. That is usually when people call us.

A garage holds more regulated stuff than any other part of your home. Paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, propane cylinders and old tires each have their own disposal rules, and some can't go to a regular landfill at all. We sort those out on site and tell you plainly what we can haul, what has to go to a drop-off site, and why.

If you are clearing more than the garage, our basement cleanouts page covers that work. For one big item, furniture removal or appliance removal may be the better fit.

What a garage cleanout includes

Full haul-out
We carry out everything you point to, from loose boxes to old workbenches. You don't need to drag anything to the curb or sort it first.
Sorting for donation and recycling
Usable furniture, tools and sporting goods get set aside for donation. Scrap metal, cardboard and electronics go to recyclers when they'll take them. The rest goes to a permitted landfill or transfer station.
Restricted items handled by the rules
Old garage fridges and freezers need the refrigerant recovered before they can be scrapped. Tires have their own disposal rules in Georgia. Dried latex paint can go in the trash, but oil-based paint, solvents and pesticides can't. We tell you what we take and where the rest needs to go.
Shelving and cabinet takedown
We take down old metal shelving, pegboard and worn-out cabinets if you want them gone. We don't touch wiring, gas lines or plumbing.
Sweep-out
When the last load is on the truck, we sweep the floor and check the driveway for nails, screws and broken glass.

Signs it is time to clear the garage

  • The car hasn't been inside in months

A garage that can't hold a car is just a storage unit you pay for with your driveway. Clearing it protects the car and frees up the space.

  • You can't reach the panel or water heater

Your electrical panel and water heater need clear space around them. Code calls for working room, and you want to shut things off fast if something goes wrong. If boxes block them, start there.

  • Chewed boxes or a musty smell

Cardboard and old fabric soak up moisture through a humid Georgia summer. That draws roaches, mice and mildew. Once you see droppings, the pile is part of the problem.

  • Old chemicals stacking up

Rusty paint cans, leaking oil jugs and old propane tanks are a fire and spill risk in a closed garage. They also can't just go in your trash cart.

  • You're getting ready to sell

Buyers and home inspectors want to see the floor, walls and outlets. Clearing the garage early makes the walk-through go easier.

How the job goes

  1. 1

    Free on-site estimate

Call and we set a time to come look. We walk the garage with you, ask what stays, and give you an upfront price before any work starts. There's no obligation.

  2. 2

    Sorting in sections

On the job day we pull things out to the driveway a section at a time. You make the keep calls. We flag anything restricted, like fuel cans or pesticides, so nothing ends up where it shouldn't.

  3. 3

    Loading and hauling

We load and secure the truck, then run the donation, recycling and landfill stops. A packed two-car garage can take more than one trip.

  4. 4

    Sweep and walk-through

We sweep up, check the driveway and walk the space with you. You see the empty floor before we pull away.

What sets the price

We price by how much room your items take up in the truck and how much work it takes to get them there. You get the number at the estimate, and it doesn't change unless you add items. Upfront pricing with no hidden fees.

How much there is
Volume is the biggest driver. A few shelves of boxes costs less than a garage packed wall to wall.
Heavy, dense items
Old concrete, tile, weight sets and bags of sand weigh a lot for their size. Landfills charge by weight, so these move the price more than bulky but light items.
Items with special disposal
Tires and appliances with refrigerant carry their own recycling fees. We point these out at the estimate so they aren't a surprise.
Access and takedown
A detached garage down a long drive, storage up in the rafters, or shelving that has to come off the wall adds time. We count that in the price you get up front.

Garage cleanout questions

Something not covered here? (404) 991-6465

Do I need to be home during the cleanout?

We ask you to be there for the estimate and the start of the job. Garages hold a lot of things that look like junk but aren't, like old tax records or a kid's trophies. Once the keep pile is set, many people head back inside and let us work.

Will you take old paint and chemicals?

Some of it, depending on what it is. Dried latex paint is fine. Oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and gasoline count as household hazardous waste, and we won't put them in a landfill load. At the estimate we tell you which items need a county drop-off or collection day, so you aren't left guessing.

Do I need a permit for a garage cleanout?

No. Clearing out your own garage doesn't need a permit. Our truck parks in your driveway or at the curb, so nothing gets set out in the street. If your HOA has rules about work hours or truck parking, tell us when you call and we'll plan around them.

How long does a garage cleanout take?

A one-car garage with ordinary household stuff often gets done in one visit. A packed two-car garage with heavy items or lots of sorting can take longer or need a second trip. We'll tell you what to expect when we look at it.

How soon can you come out?

Same-day and next-day service available, depending on our schedule and the size of the job. Call and we'll give you the earliest open time.
