Basement Cleanouts in Union City
Years of storage, a flooded corner, a move coming up. We carry everything up your stairs, load it, and sort it so each item ends up at the right place. You get the space back, a swept floor and a clear price before we lift a thing.
What a Basement Cleanout Covers
A basement cleanout is a full or partial clear-out of the lowest level of your home. That can mean old furniture, holiday boxes, a broken treadmill, a dead chest freezer, carpet pulled up after a leak, or all of it at once. You point, we carry.
Basements are harder than garages. Stairs are steep and narrow, ceilings are low, and the only way out is often one tight door. We bring the hand trucks, straps and blankets for that, and we protect stair treads, railings and door frames on the way up.
We also handle disposal the right way. Old fridges and freezers have to go to a recycler that pulls the refrigerant before the metal is scrapped. Electronics and tires have their own drop-off rules. We sort as we load, so nothing gets tossed where it shouldn't, and we tell you up front about anything we can't take.
What We Do on a Basement Job
- Carry-out from any level
- We take items up interior stairs or out a walkout door, whichever is safer for the item and your home. You don't have to stage anything first.
- Furniture and bulky items
- Sectionals, sleeper sofas, old bars, pool tables and exercise equipment. If a piece won't make the turn, we take it apart on site rather than scrape your walls.
- Appliances and old freezers
- Basement freezers, dehumidifiers, washers and old water heaters that are already disconnected. Units with refrigerant go to a handler who recovers it before recycling.
- Water-damaged materials
- Soaked carpet, pad, cardboard boxes and swollen particleboard shelving. We bag wet material so it doesn't drip through the rest of your home on the way out.
- Sorting for donation and recycling
- Usable furniture and household goods are set aside for donation where possible. Metal, cardboard and electronics are separated for recycling instead of going straight to the landfill.
- Sweep-up when we're done
- Once the room is empty we sweep the floor and the stair path. You walk down to a clear, open space.
Signs It's Time to Clear the Basement
You can't reach the water heater or panel
Boxes stacked against the furnace, water heater or electrical panel block access for service and inspection. Fire code and most inspectors want clear space around these, and a technician needs room to work.
There's a musty smell
Damp cardboard and fabric hold moisture, and Georgia's humid summers make it worse. Getting the wet stuff out is the first step before anyone can dry or treat the space.
A leak or flood just happened
Wet carpet and ruined boxes need to come out fast. Your insurer may want photos first, so take those, then call us to haul.
You're selling, moving or finishing the space
Buyers, home inspectors and contractors all need an empty basement. Clearing it early keeps your listing date or project on schedule.
Nobody has gone down there in a year
If the basement has turned into a place where things go to be forgotten, a cleanout lets you decide what to keep in one afternoon instead of one box at a time.
What Moves the Price
Most of the price comes down to how much there is and how hard it is to get out. We give you upfront pricing with no hidden fees, set at the on-site estimate. If you add items on the day, we tell you the change before we haul them.
Volume
How much of the truck your load fills is the biggest driver. A few large pieces and a full basement are very different jobs.
Stairs and access
A walkout basement with a ground-level door is faster than a narrow interior staircase with a tight turn at the top. Tough access means more labor time.
Type of material
Wet carpet, plaster and old tile are heavy and cost more to dispose of than boxes or furniture. Refrigerant appliances and tires carry their own handling fees at the facility.
Disassembly
Pieces that were built in the basement, like a bar or a workbench, sometimes have to be taken apart before they can come up the stairs.
How the Day Goes
- 1
Free on-site estimate
We come out, walk the basement with you and look at the stairs and exits. You get a clear price before any work starts, with no obligation.
- 2
Mark what stays
Tell us what you're keeping and we'll leave it alone. Some folks tape a note on keepers, others just stand at the bottom of the stairs and point.
- 3
Protect and carry
We pad railings and door frames, lay runners where needed, and start carrying. Heavy pieces get two people and a strap, every time.
- 4
Load and sort
Items go on the truck sorted for donation, recycling or disposal. Anything that needs special handling, like a refrigerant appliance, is set aside for the right facility.
- 5
Sweep and walk-through
We sweep the floor and stairs, then walk the space with you so you can confirm it's done the way you wanted.

Basement Cleanout Questions
Do I need to bring anything upstairs before you arrive?
No. That's our job, and basement stairs are where people get hurt. Just make sure we can get to the basement door and that you've set aside or marked anything you want to keep.
Can you take old paint and chemicals?
Liquid paint, solvents, pesticides and similar chemicals are household hazardous waste, and they can't go in a regular haul. We'll point them out during the estimate and tell you how to drop them at a household hazardous waste collection. Fully dried-out latex paint cans are usually fine to take.
Will you take a water-damaged carpet after a flood?
Yes. We pull up and bag soaked carpet and pad if it's loose or cut, and haul ruined boxes and furniture. If you're filing an insurance claim, take your photos and keep any samples the adjuster asks for before we load.
Do you disconnect appliances?
We haul appliances that are already disconnected. Gas lines and hardwired water heaters should be shut off and disconnected by a plumber or gas technician first, because that work falls under code and needs the right trade. Once it's free, we'll carry it out and send it to the right recycler.
How long does a basement cleanout take?
A partial cleanout is often an hour or two. A packed basement with tight stairs can take most of a day. We'll give you a realistic time at the estimate so you can plan around it.
Do you work outside Union City?
Yes. We do basement cleanouts across the surrounding area, including South Fulton, Fairburn, East Point and College Park. Check our Service Areas page for the full list.
